About
Not a résumé. A throughline.
Josh Long is a patternist, strategist, writer, builder, founder, husband, father, and student of behavior design. He holds a degree in philosophy and has an insatiable curiosity into human psychology.
I came into technology early enough to watch the internet move from a creative frontier into an environment that shapes attention, memory, culture, identity, and behavior at scale.
Over the last twenty-five years I have worked as a designer, founder, executive, writer, and builder. I founded Patterns and Simplecast, wrote books, led teams, built products, and spent enough time inside business culture to know both its usefulness and its theater.
My work now gathers around a quieter question: If life (and business) runs on patterns, how can we understand them and design the life (business) we actually want?
