Most People Do Not Need More Motivation

You are what your system produces.

Most people do not need more motivation.

They need fewer conflicting systems.

A person trying to build discipline inside an environment optimized for distraction is not weak. They are structurally outmatched.

Motivation can start a behavior, but it rarely sustains one. The stronger force is the system surrounding the behavior: the room, the phone, the calendar, the people, the rewards, the defaults, the identity.

If the system keeps rewarding the old pattern, the old pattern will return.
