The Difference Between Success and Coherence

Achievement can expand a life or scatter it. Coherence asks whether the pieces still belong together.

Success often arrives as expansion: more opportunity, more visibility, more obligation, more complexity. At first, this feels like proof. Later, it can begin to feel like fragmentation.

Coherence asks a quieter question. Do the parts still belong to the same life? Does the work still serve the person? Does the ambition still answer to the soul?

A coherent life may still build, lead, risk, and create. But it does not confuse momentum with meaning.
